Metformin is a biguanide, part of a family of compounds that share a similar chemical form. This drug helps people with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes bring down their blood sugar level in three ways: If you're taking a combination pill, or metformin with other diabetes medications or insulin, check with your doctor about how likely you are to have low blood sugars. If you're taking metformin by itself, you probably won't have low blood sugars. You might see the shell part of an extended-release pill in your poop. The medication has gone into your body, and you shouldn't take any extra pills. Metformin can cause problems in your gut, but they usually go away in a few weeks. Your doctor may want to check your B-12 level, especially if you have anemia or nerve damage in your feet or hands (peripheral neuropathy). Is Metformin not working for you. If the Metformin isn't working, then your diet and exercise routine need to be revised. I was on Metformin for nearly five years. When the sugar started creeping up, instead of increasing the dosage, trying a new drug, or submitting to insulin injections, I looked even harder for solutions. The key is that while metformin is the most commonly prescribed and often the most effective drug for diabetes, it does not work for everyone. I was on it for about six years (first three on brand name - there was no generic yet) then on generic and it stopped working (unrelated situation). However, as you mentioned above, the only thing consistent between generics is the active ingredients, every generic has a different mix of inactive and binding agents. If you can afford it, brand name is great, but if not, there are many different companies that make generic sertraline now, so one bad generic doesn't mean all are bad. After doing a Google search, I was able to confirm that Inosert is one company's brand name for generic Zoloft (sertraline). Since I couldn't find very many websites referencing or describing Inosert, I am somewhat skeptical about it. Basically, my question is: "Is Inosert a safe and valid chemical equivalent to Zoloft? I'm 6 weeks pregnant 3rd pregnancy and my last pregnancy I was prescribed that it's the generic name for Zoloft and it is better to take wile being pregnant than prosac there is nothing to worry about when it comes to this medication my child ha no birth defect so your in the clear but if you are not certain than consult with a doctor I'd not heard of viepax but online it is referred to as venlafaxine hydrochloride, slow release. Generic drugs are supposedly exactly the same as the name brands, only they can't be manufactured until a certain time after the initial rights belonging to the creators have expired.
