    Zoloft irritability

Antidepressant medications are prescribed for irritability when a chemical imbalance is suspected as being the etiology of the unwanted mood disturbance. Irritability is often seen as a secondary symptom of a condition presenting on the anxiety spectrum. Food and Drug Administration that are intended for the treatment of depressive disorder have positive effects on anxiety levels as well. For this reason, certain antidepressants tend to be on the front line of treatment across many psychiatric practices. Jones of Texas reports that it is often the first course of treatment in his practice because of its quick onset; in some cases, major changes are seen after only seven days. Venlafaxine is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Due to its status as a norepinephrine inhibitor, the drug sometimes causes nausea or jitters while the body reaches peak plasma levels and becomes used to the change of chemical percentages. Despite these side effects, venlafaxine is generally well tolerated and does not have many adverse drug interactions. Schneider, concluded that venlafaxine was significantly more effective than the placebo for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. Its efficacy was tested in a study published in the “Journal of the American Medical Association” in 2007. Sertraline, another selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, was approved for the treatment of anxiety, with or without concurrent depression, early after the tricyclics became less popular with prescribing physicians. It is sometimes thought of as the “gold standard” by which to compare other antidepressant medications. I have recently started taking 25mg of Zoloft for my anxiety and panic attacks. I know it takes a while to kick in but has anyone else gotten really irritable and just been really scared since they started taking it. I'm sure the fact that I am on something scares me more then anything else and doesn't help the situation. But I haven't experienced any other side effects except really strong bursts of irritability and fear. Thanks I think docs are afraid to prescribe potentially addicting medications. So they prescribe meds like Zoloft which does help with anxiety. If you are less depressed, naturally your anxiety level goes down, or at least it should. My dr presribed zoloft for me for anxiety/panic disorder.

I’m humbled by having a Pittman supporter visit my site and post some comments from the Christopher forums. Read the following: In my senior year in high school I was diagnosed as being severely depressed and put on medication. The first medication that I was on I took for 5 months and it made me really aggressive. My friends and family noticed the change and I told my doctor about it and she changed my meds. I am normally a very passive person and will let just about anything fly. But the medication made me really aggravated and aggressive toward my friends and family and it seemed that I wasn’t overcoming my depression. I just got done watching the 48 hours investigation on the Discovery Times Channel and felt a connection with Chris. I’ve been “diagnosed” with cyclothymia since the beginning of August. I have diagnosed in quotes because I don’t know if they just have it down for insurance or how accurate they think it is. I have quite a bit of imposter syndrome and think I’m faking everything a lot of the time so I hesitate to use terms. I’ve been taking sertraline (zoloft) 50 mg a day for almost seven weeks and over the past week or so I’ve found myself swinging into periods of really intense irritability and anger. I would have moments of irritability before treatment but not to this degree. I don’t want to jump the gun and start calling the doctor when I’m still relatively new to the med. I don’t know how severe of an issue this is and whether it’s worth contacting them. Thank you Reframe your irritability and anger as expressions of Anxiety and/or hypomanic.

As a small reminder from Mother Nature not to get on her wrong side, here you could see a truly horrifying and clearly one-sided battle between two alligators. On April 13 this year, after getting up, Alex Figueroa took a morning stroll in his neighborhood of Lakeland, Florida. When he was enjoying his peaceful walk, he was surprised to find a huge alligator eating a smaller alligator and started filming such amazing event immediately. The larger alligator was estimated to be nearly 3.3 to 3.6 meters long. Although it could be regarded as extreme behavior, cannibalism is seldom found among alligators. However, as a matter of fact, a study showed that up to 7 percent of baby alligators are devoured by their own species. In the interview with National Geographic Christopher Brochu, an alligator expert from the University of Iowa, said that gators were thought to be quite opportunistic and would take anything they could find as food, which could fit down their throat.
