    The alternative to Plaquenil is a slightly different anti malarial called Quinacrine. Plaquenil replaced Quinacrine formerly called Atabrine for anti malarial prophylaxis so now the Quinacrine has to be made up into pills or gel capsules by a compounding pharmacy.     Can you take magnesium while taking plaquenil. Joe. do you still take plaquenil? i dont understand. it made you go blind temporarily. at what dose? glad you vision came back.scary. so we are also supposed to take calcium far apart from plaquenil? i have never heard that. this is hard cause i also take doxycycline 2x a day as well--it is very difficult spacing stuff out.
